Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all.  The GCC school will be closed Tuesday, Nov. 24 at 4:00pm to Monday, Nov. 30 at 8:00am.  The after school program is will still he held on Tuesday, Nov. 24. Please enjoy the time off with your family and friends.  Our teachers and staff will not be available via phone or email during the break.   As per the governor’s executive order, the school will not be available for any practices or open gyms during the break.  The school will be deep cleaned during the break.  We look forward to resuming school on Monday with the start of winter activities.  Girls basketball will practice as follows on Monday, Nov. 30: 9-12 in the main gym at Cooperstown.  7-8 in the blue gym at Cooperstown.  Boys basketball will practice as follows: 9-12 in Glenfield; 7-8 in Binford.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Parent-Teacher Conferences are happening on Thursday, November 5 from 2:30-8:30pm. Please follow the health screener before attending conferences. If you are unable to attend conferences, please contact the school to schedule an appointment with a teacher. The conferences will maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet. We recommend a timeline of 15 minutes or less per conference. All indoor events guidelines are being followed, which means masks are recommended, and temperature check kiosks are available upon entry. Schoolwide Title information will be available at conferences. No daycare will be provided.

Introducing a new career and college planning resource for parents and their student(s)

Bank of North Dakota and the Dakota Association for College Admission Counseling – North Dakota Council have partnered to create Career Compass. This new website offered college fairs in September and is currently hosting College Application Month along with multiple webinars covering topics like career, military, and college readiness and financial literacy over the next months. Green Risk Level

Governor Burgum continues to place Griggs County in the Blue/New Normal level. USDA Waiver Provides Free Meals for Students

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced on Monday, August 31 an extension of the spring waiver that will allow Griggs County Central School District to serve free meals to all students through December 2020 or until funding runs out. Students at Griggs County Central will receive free breakfast and lunch under this waiver starting immediately. Seconds for lunch will be charged at the regular rate.
