PROGRAM OVERVIEW
ND Youth Leadership Institute is a program of Strengthen ND’s Launching Leadership Program. In partnership with Minot State University and the North Dakota Department of Commerce, Launching Leadership will engage students in workshops, community service activities, team building exercises, meetings with community leaders, and leadership development. Participants will learn essential leadership pillars and develop a list of local/regional issues they are concerned about within their own communities. Each participant will select one issue to explore, and, over the next six months, work to create solutions and present them to their local leadership avenues.
SELECTION OF PARTICIPANTS
Selection of participants is made by a committee of community representatives and program partners. Participation for the entirety of the program is expected. Please do not submit an application if you are unable to commit to the entirety of the program.
ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS
Attendance is required at the virtual Parent/Student Orientation, the Youth Leadership Institute, and monthly check-in sessions with participants and community mentors.
Transportation to and from the institute is the responsibility of the parent and/or guardian. Details regarding attendance and other programmatic information will be shared during the virtual orientation.
PROGRAM INFORMATION
North Dakota Youth Leadership Institute begins late afternoon on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 and will run through 1 pm Saturday, June 3 , 2023. This institute will provide the foundation for the Youth Leadership program.
TRAVEL SCHOLARSHIPS are available for those who are traveling from outside the North Central Region. Once you are accepted, we will provide an application for the travel scholarship.
