The Griggs County Central Robotics team made its debut appearance at the VEX IQ Spartan Tournament in Grand Forks this Saturday, December 6 and it was an impressive showing. After seven rounds of tournament play, all three GCC teams advanced to the finals and established a score to beat that held strong for a few rounds before ultimately being edged out by a higher-ranked team.
It was an eye-opening experience for our students to see kids just like themselves building, driving, and programming robots at such a high level of competition. They returned home inspired, motivated, and already fired up to build bigger and stronger robots for the next challenge.
Our next tournament will be after Christmas, Jan 10 in Grand Forks again, but we have a closer opportunity to catch the excitement at the Valley City Tournament on January 17. We invite anyone interested to come out and cheer on our GCC robotics teams!
