MLGC Scholarship
Moore Liberty-Griggs County Telephone Company (MLGC) has created a scholarship program. This is a new program and MLGC is offering seven $2,000 scholarships to graduating seniors whose parents or guardians are MLGC customers. While preference will be given to students enrolling in STEM programs, we encourage everyone to apply. Applications should be completed on our website and are due by April 15, 2025.

Criteria to apply:
• Be a spring 2025 graduating high school senior
• Have a parent/guardian who subscribes to MLGC service
• Must be accepted by an accredited 2- or 4-year school. Preference will be given to those enrolling in the STEM field.

Reminder to donors-National Honor Society Blood Drive is today, Tuesday, March 25th, 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the main gym at the high school. We have three opportunities for blood donation today: 1:45 pm., 4:15 pm, & 5:00 pm. Walk in are welcome.

Members of the GCC Senior and Junior classes visited the North Dakota State Capital in Bismarck today, March 20th. They had the opportunity to tour the Capital Building and sit in on the House and Senate Legislative Sessions.

Lake Region State College will be hosting a Summer Volleyball Camp at Griggs County Central for GCC & Midkota Students July 21 to July 24, 2025. Grades 9-12 (for the 25-26 school year) will be 9am-Noon and Grade 6-8 (for the 25-26 school year) will be 1-4pm. Cost is $150/participant. Northwood Deaconess Health Center is excited to share a scholarship opportunity open to high school seniors. There are $500 - $1000 scholarships to high school seniors in our region who intend to attend a secondary program and pursue a health career. Great Job 4th grade students! We could not be prouder of how well you did last night during your Wax Museum Presentations. Your hard work and perseverance really came through. From presenting to 23 senior peers to standing for almost 2 hours and presenting numerous times, you all stuck with it! Mrs. Ramsey and the staff would like to say job well done!!! The Griggs County Central School App for Apple devices has been updated. When you open the App on your I-device it should prompt you to update. I it does not work, uninstall the App and reinstall it from your Apple App Store.
This update did not affect Android devices.

The GCC Book Fair is Now Open. Open tonight 3/4 until 5:30. Wednesday 7:45am-5:30pm, Thursday 7:45am - 7:00pm, & Friday 7:45am-5:30pm! Come early to get the best selection!

STATE SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS:

• ND State Programs Chart – Information on the state grant, scholarships, and other aid programs.
• IMPORTANT REMINDER: Regardless of admission’s policies the ACT or SAT IS required for consideration of the ND Scholars award. The ACT is still a component of the North Dakota Scholarship.
• Students must APPLY for the ND Scholarship through the ND Dept. of Public Instruction.

ND-MN RECIPROCITY:
The 2025-26 ND-MN reciprocity application is now available for 2025 seniors! For students attending a Minnesota public institution, reciprocity applications are required to take advantage of tuition-reduction benefits.
• The 2025-26 ND-MN Reciprocity application can be completed in the new ND SAMS portal https://ndus.edu/nd-sams-portal/, for students attending a MN public institution beginning fall 2025. Students are responsible for meeting the application deadlines. If a paper application is required, students should contact the ND University System at ndfinaid@ndus.edu .
2025-26 FAFSA APPLICATION:
Students enrolling in fall 2025 should complete their 2025-26 FAFSA application now, if not already completed. The FAFSA application and other financial aid program information is located at studentaid.gov. We encourage students to apply as early as possible for financial aid as need-based aid is limited, including the ND State Grant funds.

The Griggs County Council on the Arts is offering scholarships of $150 as financial assistance to students interested in attending a fine arts camp in music, visual arts, performing arts. In the past, students have attended the International Peach Garden summer music or art camps (IMC), but other North Dakota fine arts camp offerings will be taken into consideration.
Applicants must be in grades 7-12 at the time of application and must also reside in or attend school in Griggs County, North Dakota.

All applications must be postmarked by March 31, 2025.

GCCEA and members of the senior class will be accepting donations for the Lane Gilbertson Memorial Scholarship during Family Engagement night. A table will be set up at the Community Fair, where seniors can share about Lane and the scholarship, and accept free will donations.
